Photographer Martin Roemers traveled the world armed with a large white backdrop, a camera, and one simple question: “Would you pose with your vehicle for me?”
The result is an eye-opening collection of images that raises pressing questions about our current global society. “What about the environmental impact of our addiction to oil and engines?” but also: “Does your choice of vehicle express something about your identity?”
At the same time, Roemers’ images almost instantly bring a smile to your face.

Martin Roemers was born on August 21, 1962, in Oldehove, Groningen in the Netherlands. He is a Dutch photographer. His work is included in the collections of institutions including the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas, and The Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles. His work has received numerous awards, including two World Press Photo Awards.
Martin Roemers is geboren op 21 augustus 1962 in Oldehove, Groningen. Hij is een Nederlandse fotograaf. Zijn werk i opgenomen in de collecties van onder meer het Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas and The Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles. Zijn werk werd meermaals bekroond, onder andere met twee World Press Photo Awards.
