Ed Zwick was born 8 october 1952 in Chicago, Illinois. He is an Academy Award– and Emmy Award–winning director, writer, and producer of film and television. A graduate of Harvard and the AFI Conservatory, he lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Liberty Godshall. He directed well known pictures like Glory (1989), The Last Samurai (2006), Blood Diamond (2006) and Trial by Fire (2018).
