The Winter Olympics are held every four years. The world’s best winter athletes compete for the Olympic title and aim to win the gold medal, or at least silver or bronze. Some of the athletes who participate or have participated are world-famous and have achieved legendary status.

The 2026 Winter Olympics, officially the XXV Olympic Winter Games, will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo. The opening ceremony will take place on February 6, 2026, and the closing ceremony will be on February 22, 2026. A total of 113 gold medals can be won in 16 different winter sports.
