Robert L. O’Connell is an American historian, intelligence analyst, and author known for his thought-provoking works on war, weaponry, and human aggression. He has worked as a senior analyst at the National Ground Intelligence Center, as a contributing editor to Military History Quarterly and as a visiting professor at the Naval Postgraduate School. He is the author of numerous books, two of which, The Ghosts of Cannae and Fierce Patriot, were national bestsellers.
